The Green FlashDon Bryan of Cape Carteret, NC writes:
"Your sunset article in the news prompted this e-mail ... I have been looking at sunsets, trying to see the green flash for over 25 years... and, on Feb. 18 -- I finally saw it... Me, my wife, and a couple from home who were our guests for a week in Anguilla, we all saw it. I had introduced them to flash looking their first night there.
"We were staying at the Island View Point Villa in Cul de Sac and diid our flash watches from the gallery there looking down past the new resort going up at the end of the Cul de Sac... Was very pleased my group saw if for 2 reasons - 1. that they saw it on almost first time watching and 2. that I was not seeing things myself..."

New Road!
The new Blowing Point-to-Little Harbour road appearsr to be open.
But looks can be deceiving. At the press conference, yesterday Kenn Banks said that the new road, although completed is not officially open to the public. Evidently they have to wait for the Governor to sign a document that the Attorney General is preparing!! It should be signed next week. (Thanks to Brenda Carty for report from the press conference).

Although the new Ace hardware by the Sandy Ground roundabout hasn't had their grand opening yet, the tools and supplies and paint are flying off the shelves as fast as the staff can stock those shelves!
Ace is a world-wide chain that aims to cater to the “do-it-yourself” homeowners and contractors with a modern, friendly service and an extensive product line. Ace in Anguilla is locally owned and carries a similar theme and product line to other enterprises under the Ace brand. The following sections are featured: Hardware, Paint, Housewares, Lawn and Garden, Electrical, Plumbing, Tools, Powertools and Accessories. Opening hours: Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm; Saturdays 9am – 3pm. Tel. 498-1223; Fax 498-1224; Email: ace@anguillanet.com
Below is a picture of Alison Harrigan, manager, behind the counter at the new Ace.
Directions: starting from the airport parking lot, take the only exit and turn left, then left again and past the airport entrance. Continue straight west through the roundabout, then keep left at the next roundabout (Sandy Ground) and you will see Ace on the left almost immediately.
